When I was in high school and college, I was absolutely obsessed with the show Glee (their song remixes are the best!) so you can imagine how excited I was to read a book written by Chris Colfer who played Kurt on the show. Chris Colfer’s new book, Stranger than Fanfiction, is an absolutely hilarious story about Cash Carter, a young famous actor, who agrees to go on a road trip with his fans. Throughout the trip, they learn a lot about each other and great bonds of friendship form. Road Trip Celebrities
I absolutely love the idea of going on a road trip with a celebrity because there are a few that I think would be so fun to hang out with it. It was really hard to create this list but here are three celebrities I would absolutely loveee to go on a road trip with:
No surprise here but I would absolutely die if Emma Watson agreed to go on a road trip with me. I’ve loved her ever since I was a child and watched the Harry Potter movies. I love how poised and intelligent she is — her confidence is amazing. I can imagine just talking about books throughout the trip since she is a big reader (here is a list of her favorite books). Also, her work on women’s rights is so inspiring. As someone who studied gender & sexuality as an undergraduate, I would love to just talk about our favorite feminist authors and their works.
One of my favorite shows on TV is Jane the Virgin. Gina (who plays Jane) is such a wonderful main character — she’s strong, witty, and confident. I’ve watched a few talk shows with Gina and she is just as wonderful of a human being as Jane. Also, she is really tackling issues with the lack of Latino diversity in Hollywood, which is such a massive problem. Gina is a fantastic role model and would be awesome to hang out with.
Trevor Noah is one of my favorite talk show hosts. I find him so incredibly witty and hilarious. I love how much he is not afraid to call people out while also being great at having conversations with those who hold beliefs different than his own. Also, I read his book recently, Born a Crime, and really learned about how tough of a childhood he had in South Africa. I would totally love to go road trip with him (maybe through South Africa?) since he has such interesting story and is just so darn funny.
